Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, provide information to site operators, and improve the user experience. NPS Bookkeeping uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the platform securely and effectively.
2. Essential Cookies
These cookies are required for the platform to function and cannot be disabled. They include session cookies managed by Supabase Auth that maintain your authenticated session, CSRF protection tokens that prevent cross-site request forgery attacks, and preference cookies that remember your selected settings such as theme and items per page. Without these cookies, core features like signing in, navigating between pages, and maintaining your session would not work.
3. Authentication Cookies
NPS Bookkeeping uses Supabase Auth for session management. When you sign in, an HTTP-only secure cookie is set containing your encrypted session token. This cookie is used to verify your identity on each request, enforce role-based access controls, maintain tenant isolation, and refresh your session automatically. These cookies expire when you sign out or after the configured session timeout period.
4. Analytics Cookies
We may use analytics cookies to understand how users interact with the platform. These cookies collect anonymized data about page views, feature usage, and navigation patterns. Analytics data is used solely to improve the Service and is never sold to third parties. You can opt out of analytics cookies through your browser settings without affecting platform functionality.
5. Third-Party Cookies
Our payment processor, Stripe, may set cookies when you interact with the billing portal or checkout pages. These cookies are governed by Stripe's cookie policy. We do not use advertising cookies, social media tracking pixels, or any third-party cookies for marketing purposes.
6. Cookie Duration
Session cookies are temporary and are deleted when you close your browser or sign out. Persistent cookies remain on your device for a set period or until you delete them. Authentication session cookies are configured with a maximum lifetime aligned with Supabase Auth defaults. Preference cookies persist until you clear your browser data or change your settings.
7. Managing Cookies
Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically view, delete, and block cookies from the browser's privacy or security settings. Be aware that blocking essential cookies will prevent the platform from functioning correctly, including the inability to sign in or maintain your session.
8. Do Not Track
Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal to websites. NPS Bookkeeping respects Do Not Track signals and will not set analytics cookies when this signal is detected. Essential and authentication cookies are still set as they are required for platform operation.
9. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in our practices or applicable regulations. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
